This is the third entry in my series of posts on recommended podcasts for business owners and entrepreneurs. I’m always looking for new ideas, fresh insights, and smart strategies that I can put into use in operating my own Arizona law firm.  I enjoy sharing these tips and insights with others looking for ways to optimize their own business processes. At this time, I would like to introduce you to a podcast called RISE, hosted by one of the entrepreneurial rising stars, Rachel Hollis.

Ms. Hollis has become well known on a number of fronts in the business world. Her company, Chic Media, has gained great visibility through her popular lifestyle website, thehollisco.com. Hollis is also a New York Times bestselling author. Her women’s fiction series, “Smart Girls,” follows the lives of various women as they pursue their career paths, but she’s also written inspirational non-fiction and even a cookbook. She has received attention from such major media venues as Today.com, Yahoo.com, Good Morning America, People Magazine, and Better Homes and Gardens. Ms. Hollis’s      RISE podcast focuses on giving listeners helpful life and business tools.  You’ll hear      revealing in-depth interviews with some of the world’s most successful personal development leaders and business influencers. I also believe that her personal experiences as a female entrepreneur (in what was once considered a male-dominated field) offer great value to any entrepreneur who might have reservations in taking a risk and investing in themselves.  Some podcast highlights worth seeking out include:

Fighting to Get In the Room with Phoebe Robinson — Phoebe Robinson isn’t just a renowned stand-up comedian and popular podcaster; like Hollis, Ms. Robinson is the author of a best-selling book, You Can’t Touch My Hair and Other Things I Still Have to Explain.      They sit down for a conversation about the challenges faced by female entrepreneurs and performers, including the special difficulties faced by those women who dare to innovate and expand their presence into traditionally male-dominated positions and environments.

How To Be Successful in Business Without Compromising Your Health — Even the most brilliant entrepreneur can only be as successful and productive as her health will allow. Hollis presents the results of her own personal study and insights into this important matter. She talks about the very real problems of burnout, sleep deprivation, and how smart health and lifestyle choices can play a direct role in helping you achieve and exceed your goals in the business world.

Serving Your Community With Your Business with Charis Jones — How well does your business connect with your community? Charis Jones, founder and CEO of a boutique called Sassy Jones, has discovered a number of ways that entrepreneurs and businesses can serve their communities through the savvy use of social media and providing ongoing education and events for their customers. Hollis describes this podcast as a “marketing master class,” which makes it well worth any business owner’s attention.

Building a BILLION Dollar Company with Jamie Kern Lima — It only makes sense that the title of this podcast places the word “billion” in caps. For many budding entrepreneurs, reaching that level of success might seem like a distant or even impossible dream. But as Hollis learns in her conversation with Jamie Kern Lima of It Cosmetics, the dream can come true when you build your business authentically.  Lima talks about how her goal of changing women’s lives guided her along a long, challenging, but ultimately successful path into the billion-dollar stratosphere.

Rachel Hollis’s RISE podcast can be found on streaming media services such as Player.FM and Stitcher. You can also download her podcasts for later listening on Apple and Android devices.
